- How the fee is figured
- The 2 year fee is set by a weight chart. Use taxes and the MCTD fee are added where they apply.1
- Title fee
- $50.00 title certificate fee on an original registration.1
- Plate fee
- $25.00 for vehicle plates on an original registration.1
- Electric vehicle fee
- No separate EV fee. Electric vehicles pay at least the $32.50 minimum 2 year fee.1
- Local or county fees
- Vehicle use tax in NYC and several counties, for example $30 for 2 years in NYC. MCTD supplemental fee $50 for 2 years in 12 counties.1
- Renewal period
- Registration fees are charged for a 2 year period.1
